Group History
It received official status in 1986, although the group’s history began in the mid-1970s with the Ornament student ensemble. Since that time, there have been many changes in the group (about 30 musicians played and sang in “Kukuruz”). Changed the repertoire, and even musical style. Having started to play acoustic country music, bluegrass and folk , the band subsequently began to sound harder. The repertoire of "Corn" combines traditional country and country rock , a bit of blues and rock and roll , as well as their original songs in Russian.
In early 2012, the website of the Moscow magazine Time Out included the song Sing, Vasya! Recorded in Kukuruz in 1984 in the list of 100 songs that changed our lives [1] .
