Synopsis
A single mother, Natasha Suvorova, together with her father, works at the town-forming enterprise of the city of Anikanovo, the Almaznaya coal mine. After the sudden death of the owner of the company Shamil, it passes into the hands of his wife Alina Khmelevskaya, who became the "mistress" of the city. Due to the death of his father, the eldest son Alexander Khmelevsky returns home from Kiev .

Production
The series is an adaptation of the 2013 Mexican telenovela La Patrona. Since the fall of 2014 [1] , the scenario group has been working on the script under the guidance of the writer Irina Chernova (known under the pseudonym Luko Dashvar). The author of the soundtrack "You always have time to surrender" was Yegor Solodovnikov , performed by Ukrainian singer Tina Karol [3] .
The film was created by the 1 + 1 production company owned by the 1 + 1 TV channel, the filming began at the end of March 2015 [4] . 24 episodes [4] were filmed, although the original contained 120 original episodes [1] .
The series went on the air on February 1, 2016. In April, it became known about the sale of rights to adapt the series to Kazakhstan [5] .
Ratings
In the first week, the average rating and the share of the series were 3.65% and 10.08% (second place among the series [6] ). The final week figures were 3.48% and 10.10% helped him to take the first place among the series, [7]
The average share of the main show of the series “Hostess” was 14.6%, which allowed the product to become a leader in its slot. The general audience of the TV series “Hostess” exceeded 24.5 million Ukrainians (4+, all of Ukraine). According to the Ukrainian journalist and writer Andrei Kokotyuha , Ukrainian social realities are displayed in the “Hostess”. The positive response caused the writers to focus on the struggle for their own dignity, which in his opinion distinguishes the work from its Russian counterparts [8] .
