Firudin Shushinsky ( Azeri. Firudin Şuşinski , real name Firudin Magomed oglu Hasanov ; October 20, 1925 , Shusha - October 25, 1997 , Baku ) - Azerbaijani and Soviet musicologist and researcher, Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, author of more than 400 articles and essays [1] .

Biography
Firudin Hasanov was born on October 20, 1925 in the city of Shusha [2] . He received his first education in Shusha. After graduating from the Shusha Pedagogical School, he was sent as a teacher to a school in the village of Malybeyli , where he taught only four months. In 1942 he went to the front of World War II . He was awarded the medal " For Courage " [3] .
Returning after the war, he worked for some time as a literature teacher at a school in the city of Agdam . In 1946, he arrived in Baku for higher education. In Baku, Hasanov entered the history department of Azerbaijan State University . In order to seriously engage in the history of his native Karabakh , Firudin Shushinsky spent a lot of time in the archives. In 1948, Samed Vurgun instructed Shushinsky to prepare material on the theme of “ Vagif and Karabakh”. This article was the first published work by Shushinsky [3] .
Shushinsky was also interested in the biography of Nariman Narimanov , despite sharp criticism of the latter in those years. After graduation, he taught history at schools No. 45 and 61 in Baku [3] .
In 1968, the book of Firudin Shushinsky's “Shusha” was published, dedicated to the history and famous personalities of his hometown of Shusha [2] . In the 70s, Shushinsky was engaged in the study of biographies of Azerbaijani folk musicians . One after another, his books were published about Jabbar Karjagdioglu , Seyid Shushinsky [3] . In 1979, in Moscow , his book "Folk Singers and Musicians of Azerbaijan" [4] was published. In 2007, on the initiative of the National Archival Administration under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and on the basis of materials collected by Shushinsky, the book “Sadykhjan” was published, dedicated to the life and work of the tarista Mirza Sadykh [1] .
Firudin Shushinsky died on October 25, 1997 . According to his will, he was buried in the " Martyr ’s Cemetery" in the city of Barda [2] .
