STRANN International Scientific Conference

STRANN International Scientific Conference ( STRANN - 2009, STRANN - 2011, STRANN - 2012, STRANN - 2014, STRANN - 2016 ; from the English S tate-of-the-art T rends of scientific Research of Scientific and Scientific at anoobjects , Current trends in scientific research of nano-objects of artificial and natural origin) originates in 2009. The aim of the conference is to create a forum for combining the efforts of scientists from various fields of science, such as physics, chemistry, biotechnology, materials science, microscopy, which combine the tasks of studying the properties of nano-objects and developing appropriate technologies. The exchange of experience and discussion of the results by scientists, specialists and experts is designed to help better understand the non-trivial aspects of studying micro- and nanoscale objects and the current existing and emerging at the interface of sciences latest trends and techniques that can overcome existing and expected future difficulties [1] . The conference program includes reports by invited experts from leading world research centers, oral and poster presentations that present original results. Selected articles from all accepted reports are published in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal [2] .

General Information

The STRANN International Scientific Conference was held in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016. In 2014, the international scientific conference STRANN was included in the number of scientific events held as part of the Russia-EU Science Year 2014 [3] .

The official website of the conference .

The conference organizers are:

  • Saint Petersburg State University
  • Saint Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics
  • OPTEC Company

STRANN is listed on Globaleventslist. [four]

The international scientific conference STRANN takes place at the House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gorky . House of Scientists named after Gorky is located in the former palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich in the center of St. Petersburg on Palace Embankment [5] .

The conference is accompanied by discussions, exchange of views also directly in the centers of nanotechnology , such as MRC [6] . This approach, in which conference participants have the opportunity to share their experiences and opinions among modern high-level experimental laboratories, has allowed us to generate many new ideas and implement a number of successful joint projects between scientists from different cities and countries.

Conference working language: English .

In 2014, the conference partner was the authoritative international scientific refereed journal in the field of nanotechnology Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology (Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports Impact factor 2012: 2,374) [7] The refereed journal indexed in scientific search engines SCOPUS , WEB of Science , etc.

Since 2016, the conference began to formally collaborate with AIP [8] with the intention of issuing a collection of reports from the STRANN conference (peer-reviewed collection) at the AIP Conference Proceedings [9] .

To date, leading scientists in the field of nanotechnology from Russia , Belarus , Germany , the USA , Great Britain , France , the Netherlands , Switzerland , Finland , Israel , Singapore , China and Romania have taken part in the international scientific conference STRANN.

STRANN 2009

STRANN 2009 was held on December 3, 2009 [1] . The announcement of the STRANN-2009 conference can be found on the physics-online portal (inaccessible link) .

STRANN 2011

The STRANN 2011 conference was attended by over 100 scientists [10] . As one of the authors of the idea of holding a STRANN conference stated, professor, Ph.D. Oleg Fedorovich Vyvenko in an interview with portalnano.ru : " At the conference, we brought together high-class specialists who do not come together: biologists usually meet with biologists, physicists with physicists, etc. And we invited them to one conference. Recently I was in At the British Consulate, I listened to two reports, an English scientist and ours, one studying a whalebone and the other the elk horns, because the biological composite materials are so perfect in their properties that everything a person has learned to do cannot be compared with them. ! That is, in many tens of times worse. And therefore, if we create conditions under which physicists and chemists would be interested in biology, and biologists in physics, the effect will be significant. Maybe someone can create new materials that will be similar to natural. " [10 ] . An interview with Dan Picard and Joachim Lubke regarding participation in the STRANN-2011 conference can be found on the SPbSU website at the following link . The results of the STRANN-2011 conference are published on the federal Internet portal portalnano.ru and the portal Nano News Net .
