Club career
Diaz began his career playing for the youth teams of the Kobreloa , Audax Italiano and Palestino clubs. On May 12, 2013, in his match against Cobreloa, he made his debut in the Chilean Example as part of the latter [2] . On August 25, 2014, Paulo scored his first goal for Palestino in a duel against Universidad Catholic [3] . In the summer of 2015, Diaz moved to Kolo-Kolo . The transfer amount amounted to 700 thousand dollars. On October 31, in a match against Universidad de Chile , Paulo made his debut for a new team [4] . In early 2016, he moved to the Argentinean “ San Lorenzo ”. The transfer amount amounted to 920 thousand euros. On February 16, in a match against Olympo , Diaz made his debut in the Argentinean Example [5] . On October 30, Paulo scored his first goal for San Lorenzo in a duel against the Newells Old Boys [6] . May 4, 2017 in the match of the Copa Libertadores against the Brazilian Atletico Paranaens , he scored a goal [7] .
In the summer of 2018, Diaz moved to the Saudi Al-Ahli . On September 1, in a match against Al-Taavun , he made his debut in the championship of Saudi Arabia [8] .
International Career
On January 29, 2015, in a friendly match against the US national team, Diaz made his debut for the Chilean national team , replacing Marco Medel in the second half [9] .
In 2017, Diaz became the silver medalist of the Confederations Cup in Russia . At the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Australia [10] and Germany [11] .
