Walter Weidauer ( German: Walter Weidauer ; July 28, 1899 , Lauter - March 13, 1986 , Dresden ) - German politician, member of the KKE , later the SED . Ober-burgomaster of Dresden .

Biography
He was born in a basket-maker's family, studied at a public school, trained as a carpenter in 1914-1917. Since 1916, he participated in the proletarian youth movement. In 1920 he joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany , withdrew from its composition at the end of 1921. At the beginning of 1922 he joined the KKE. In 1924-1928 he was elected to the Zwickau city assembly from the KKE. In July 1932 he was elected to the Reichstag and was his deputy until March 1933. He was repeatedly arrested in 1933-1935, emigrated to Prague , then settled in Denmark, where in 1941 he was again arrested and deported to Germany.
After World War II, Veydauer rejoined the KKE. After the formation of the SED joined its ranks. In the years 1946-1958, Weidauer held the position of Chief Mayor of Dresden. In 1946-1951 he was a deputy of the Saxon Landtag . In 1958-1961 he was chairman of the Dresden District Council. He is an honorary citizen of the city. One of the daughters of Walter Weydauer is Inga Taubert , a philosopher and researcher of Marxism . He was buried in the Meadow cemetery in Dresden.
