Kurt Landau ( German: Kurt Landau , pseudonym Agricola ; January 29, 1903 - after September 23, 1937) is a left- wing politician and publicist operating in Austria , Germany and Spain.

Biography
Since 1921, a member of the Communist Party of Austria , headed the cell in Wering . Opposing Stalinism , he joined the Trotskyist movement - the International Left Opposition. In 1927 he was expelled from the CPA and wrote a pamphlet entitled The Essence and History of Anarcho-Communism in Austria. A member of the Leninbund since 1929, he led the "Wedding Opposition" (the "Landau Group"). He broke with the Left Opposition of the KKE in 1931, creating the Iskra group.
At the end of 1936 he arrived with his wife Katya Landau in Spain, which was engulfed in the civil war, to fight for the Republicans in the POUM detachments, but already in June 1937 was forced to hide from Stalinist repressions in the homes of the POUM and NKT supporters. September 23, 1937 was abducted and then killed by agents of the NKVD . Katya Landau was also abducted, but then she was released due to protests from the international community, including Otto Bauer and Friedrich Adler .
