Career
Tamirlan Bekkiev started basketball at the age of 14 with the honored coach of Russia Rimma Kumykova and Anatoly Tkhakakhov, and before that he had been playing football for seven years. At 15, he was invited to the youth team of the Saratov Avtodor .
Before the start of the 2011/2012 season, Ryazan drew attention to Bekkiev, however, it was decided to postpone the transition until the middle of the season. In early January 2012, Tamirlan moved to Ryazan before the end of the season. As part of the Ryazan team, he won the Super League bronze medals.
Having started the 2012/2013 season with Avtodor , in February 2013 Bekkiev was again leased, this time to Severstal .
Bekkiev started the season 2013/2014 on loan at the Ataman club in Rostov, but left the team in February 2014 due to health problems. As part of Ataman, Tamirlan spent 14 games, gaining an average of 1.9 points, 0.9 assists, 0.9 interceptions and 2.5 rebounds. Returning to the Avtodor , he became the champion of the Super League .
Russian team
At the World Championships (under 19 years) he won a bronze medal. The indicators of Tamirlan at the tournament were: 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.8 minutes on average per game.

Tamirlan Bekkiev, grandson of Azret Issaevich Bekkiev - a famous athlete, USSR champion in sambo, 6-time champion of the North Caucasus in national sports, master of sports in freestyle wrestling.
