AllMusic reviewer Mark Deming wrote the following: β God Bless the Red Krayola and All Who Sail with It came out completely unlike anything. It took several decades of post-punk experiments to suggest the Russian Mayo Thomson the sound found its place in the music scene. However, due to the intentionally light, laid-back mood, sound βfragmentsβ are easily perceived - unless, of course, the listener is not burdened with stereotypes β [1] .
