Biography

Fedor Taube was born on June 15, 1857, from the nobles of the Livonia province . In 1875 he graduated from the 2nd St. Petersburg Military Gymnasium , in 1877 - the 1st Pavlovsk Military School , from which he was promoted to second lieutenant and on July 10 was enrolled in the 34th Sevsky Infantry of His Imperial Highness Crown Prince of Austria , which included on the front of the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 July 18, participates in the capture of Yeni-Zagra, July 19, fights in the front lines with a detachment of Reuf Pasha near the village of Juranli , injured in the shoulder and severe concussion from a fragment of a grenade. For these battles he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 3rd degree with swords and bow.

April 9, 1878 enters the reserve battalion of the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment . To disband the reserve battalion in September 1878, Taube was transferred to the Izmailovsky Regiment, then sent for six months to the office of the War Ministry , and from there to the disposal of the head of the Winter Palace guard.

In the fall of 1881, he entered the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff , after which in the spring of 1884 he was appointed to the headquarters of the 39th Infantry Division of the Caucasian Military District , and a little later, to the headquarters of the 1st Caucasian Army Corps.

On April 6, 1885, due to health reasons, he was forced to resign, on November 27 he was reinstated, in December he was already commanding a company of the 13th Life-Grenadier Erivan Regiment , and on August 30, 1887, after being promoted to lieutenant colonel, he was approved as clerk of the office of the Military Scientific Committee General Staff .

On September 12, 1890, he was appointed a military agent in Bucharest and Belgrade , then accompanied by Egyptian princes Abbas Bey and Mahmed Ali Bey, traveling around Russia, then he was with the Serbian King Alexander Obrenovich during his stay in Russia, representing the opening of the French monument in the Romanian city ​​of Constanta and accompanies the Romanian king Carol I , who visited Russia in July 1898.

On July 26, 1899, Colonel Taube was placed at the disposal of the Chief of the General Staff. From October 31, he commands the 148th Caspian Infantry Regiment .

On June 10, 1903, Fedor Fedorovich was promoted to major general and appointed chief of staff of the Orenburg Cossack army , on April 9, 1906 he was appointed to the post of Orenburg governor and punishment chieftain of the Orenburg Cossack army .

On November 17, 1906, Baron von Taube was appointed commander of the Separate Gendarmes Corps (approved on February 11, 1908), promoted to lieutenant general on December 6, 1907, and replaced A.V. Samsonov on the post of punishment chieftain of the Don Cossack Army .

Baron Fedor Fedorovich von Taube died on February 23, 1911 in the city of Novocherkassk from blood poisoning.

He was married to Princess Alexandra Alexandrovna (nee Russieva ), had no children.
