The main activities of the GC "SVS": industrial construction, construction of apartment buildings, objects of communal infrastructure. 200 thousand m² of housing, six sports arenas with artificial ice, three sports complexes, a brick factory, more than 50 boiler houses and central heating stations with a capacity of more than 100 MW were commissioned.

In 2004, he was elected to the Orenburg City Council in the single-mandate constituency No. 7. In the City Council, he was the head of the budget group.

In 2004-2006, he was the head of the Representative Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the Orenburg Region .

In 2006, he won the election to the Legislative Assembly of the Orenburg Region . He was nominated by the United Russia party in the single-mandate constituency No. 9. He carried out parliamentary activities on a professional permanent basis. He chaired the committee on property, nature management and construction.

In 2010, he left the United Russia party. In 2011, he won the elections in the single-mandate constituency No. 9 to the Legislative Assembly of the Orenburg Region. He took part in the development and adoption of regional programs for providing land plots with communal infrastructure for housing construction in 2007-2010, modernizing communal infrastructure in 2008-2011, providing housing for young families in the Orenburg region, developing mortgage lending in 2005-2010 . He oversaw housing and communal services related to the creation of a non-profit partnership of the Orenburg region management organizations.

In 2007, the regional program “Low-Rise Housing Construction in the Orenburg Region“ Own Home for 2007-2011 ”was adopted by Sergey Katasonov. In the course of its implementation, the construction of a low-rise village of a modern type with developed Ecodolie infrastructure began. The program was defined as a model and adopted in more than 50 regions of Russia.

In 2007, he initiated a parliamentary investigation into the accidental release of gas in Orenburg on the night of June 15-16 and the emergency that arose in connection with this, as well as a series of parliamentary hearings on the topic of ecology. After that, the work of large industrial enterprises, including Orenburggazprom LLC, on the introduction of a new environmental monitoring system was intensified.

He was a member of the UNDP / GEF (UN Development Program / Global Economic Fund) project "Improving the management system and mechanisms of protected areas in the steppe biome of Russia." As a result of its implementation, the Orenburg Tarpania project was launched in the Orenburg region.

Author and co-author of 68 bills.

He is a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the VI and VII convocations (since December 19, 2012). He holds the post of First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, a member of the State Duma Commission for the consideration of federal budget expenditures aimed at ensuring national defense, national security and law enforcement, is a member of the tripartite commission on intergovernmental relations and the interdepartmental working group monitoring development situations in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

In 2015, it entered the TOP-5 rating of the ISEPI fund of deputies from the LDPR , who have high chances of being re-elected to the State Duma in single-mandate constituencies. In 2016, re-elected to the State Duma on the regional list of the Liberal Democratic Party.

He is the author and co-author of 55 bills. Since 2012, he spoke in parliament about 400 times (according to data as of March 4, 2016).

In 2014, he was nominated as a candidate from the united opposition (the Liberal Democratic Party , the Communist Party , and the Slovak Republic ) in the early elections of the governor of the Orenburg region.

As a result, a large-scale campaign of discredit was launched against the candidate, based on fictitious arguments. Subsequently, S. Katasonov’s candidacy was withdrawn from the elections by decision of the LDPR High Council.

The expert community assessed the fact of withdrawing the candidate as a mistake by the authorities.

- In the regions, filtering of representatives of opposition parties continues. A number of candidates who would theoretically have a chance of winning, for example, Oksana Dmitrieva in St. Petersburg, Rail Sarbaev in Bashkiria, Sergey Katasonov in the Orenburg Region, will not be able to take part in the elections. The tactics of working with them are diverse: from blocking at the stage of collecting signatures to initiating criminal cases. The election of governors in this way becomes referenda on trust, ”wrote Aleksey Gorbachev, political observer for Nezavisimaya Gazeta, in July.

In March 2015, the regional prosecutor’s office, in response to a request from the Liberal Democratic Party chairman Vladimir Zhirinovsky, reported that according to law enforcement agencies, there was no and never had any criminal cases, charges or convictions from State Duma deputy Sergei Katasonov, criminal cases had never been brought against him.

He is the chairman of the Center for Social Programs of Sergey Katasonov, Orenburg City Public Foundation, established in 2004. Member of the Coordination Council of the Orenburg regional branch of the LDPR political party, oversees the Orenburg and Penza regions, as well as the Republic of Karelia . Since 2007, heads the Federation of mini-football in the Orenburg region.

Parents - Mikhail Ivanovich and Maria Dmitrievna - come from the village of Ratchino, Sharlyksky district, Orenburg region. We moved to Orenburg in 1955.

Sergey Katasonov is married. Raises two daughters: Ksenia (1991) and Daria (1996). He is fond of golf and horse riding. In his youth he was professionally involved in football.
