General Information

Rebecca's father - Mart is a tennis coach, mother - Anneli, has a sister - Berit.

The idols in the world of tennis in childhood were Kim Claysters and Justin Henin . Favorite tournament - Bostad .

Sports career

Rebecca began regular professional appearances in 2013, although at some tournaments ITF appeared at a junior age, starting in 2009. In July 2012, she received a special invitation from the organizers of the tournament in Bostad and thus made her debut in the WTA tour at the age of 16. She lost both of her fights (in singles and a pair) in Bostad. A year later, he performs again in this tournament and also drops out in the first stage. In 2013, Peterson managed to win two 25 thousandths of ITF, three 10 thousandths in singles and two in doubles.

In March 2014, Rebecca, thanks to the Wild Card, performed at a tournament in Miami , where she reached the second round. In July, at the tournament in Bostad in doubles, she was able to reach the semifinals, speaking together with Johanna Larsson . In 2014, she won one 25-thousandth ITF singles and one doubles. In February 2015, Peterson made her debut as part of the Swedish national team in the Federation Cup . At the tournament in Rio de Janeiro, she manages to win her debut title as part of the WTA tour. This happened in the doubles competition, where she won by speaking with Isalin Bonaventure . With her, in March 2015, she won the 25 thousandth in Brazil. In April 2019, Peterson took part in the Lalla Meriem Grand Prix , where she reached the quarterfinals, but lost to Australian tennis player Aile Tomlyanovich in a two-set standoff with a score of 6-2, 6-4.

At the 2019 US Open, she lost in the second round to Ukrainian Dayan Yastremskaya in two sets.
