Major League Baseball 2016

The 2016 MLB season kicked off on April 3, 2016 at the PNC Park Stadium with a game between St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates , the two best teams following last season’s regular season. The regular season ended on October 2, 2016 .
The 87th All-Star Game of Major League Baseball took place in San Diego at the home stadium of the San Diego Padres club Petko Park on July 12 .
In the regular season 30 teams started, which held 162 matches.

The season ended on November 2 with the victory of the Chicago Cubs in the World Series .

Schedule

As in the 2015 season , the teams will play 76 games against the teams of their division (19 against each). Another 66 games will be played against teams of other divisions of their league (6 or 7 each). The remaining 20 games will be played against teams in another league. The matches for this season are East AL vs West NL , Center AL vs East NL and West AL vs Center NL .

On July 3, 2016, Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins played a handed game on a neutral pitch in Fort Bragg dedicated to US Independence Day .
