Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Rosheim (Molsem County).

Economics
In 2010, out of 2142 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 1638 were economically active , 504 inactive (activity indicator 76.5%, in 1999 - 73.3%). Of 1638 active able-bodied residents, 1536 people worked (784 men and 752 women), 102 were considered unemployed (61 men and 41 women). Among 504 able-bodied inactive citizens, 163 were pupils or students , 191 were pensioners , and another 150 were inactive for other reasons [10] [11] .
