Biography
The son of the titular adviser to the doctor of medicine Ivan Yakovlevich Sekerzh-Zenkovich (1860 - 11/17/1922).
He graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of Moscow University in 1922, and taught mathematics and physics at the school.
Since 1929 he worked in the theoretical department of TsAGI . Since 1938 - Associate Professor at the Department of Theoretical Mechanics of the Moscow Hydrometeorological Institute .
Then he worked at the Institute of Theoretical Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , in the laboratory of the theory of waves and currents of the Marine Hydrophysical Institute , in the aerohydromechanics department of the Institute of Mechanics of the USSR Academy of Sciences .
Doctor of physico-mathematical sciences (1957), thesis topic "Research on the hydrodynamic theory of waves of finite amplitude." Professor (1968).
He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1953).
Son - Sekerzh-Zenkovich, Sergei Yakovlevich (b. 01.09.1939), professor, leading researcher at the Institute of Problems of Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery (3rd section).
