Max Romeo ( born Max Romeo ; born Maxwell Livingston Smith ( born Maxwell Livingston Smith ); born on November 22, 1944) [2] is a Jamaican reggae performer, widely known in his country, as well as in Great Britain . Collaborated with the vocal group "The Emotions". The songs from his album “A Dream” (1969) were sustained in a frankly sexual manner and created a new style of reggae [3]

Career
Born in St. D'Acres, St. James, Jamaica. Romeo left his home at the age of 14 and worked on a sugar plantation near Claredon , where he then, at the age of 18, won the local talent competition. After that, Max decided to move to the capital Kingston , in order to begin a musical career. In 1965, he joined Kenneth Knight and Lloyd Shakespeare in the vocal group The Emotions.
