Club career
Hoot made his debut for the first Chelsea team in the 2001/02 season of the English Premier League , substituting in a match lost to Aston Villa with a score of 3: 1. From 2001 to 2005, Robert was a first-reserve player, sometimes replacing John Terry , Marcel Desailly, and William Gallas .
By the beginning of the 2005/06 season, Hoot’s chances of becoming a player of the main squad were not great, as three other world-class players claimed his position: Terry, Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho , who replaced Desaiia's sports career. Jose Mourinho , who took the post of head coach after Claudio Ranieri in the summer of 2004, released these three players more often than the German. Despite this, the Portuguese mentor did not allow Hut to be transferred to the German champion Bayern Munich in the summer of 2005.
On July 13, 2006, Huta’s previously agreed transition to the Middlesbrough Premier League club broke down at the medical commission stage. The club continued to follow the German, and on August 31 of that year, the Middlesbrough management announced the signing of a contract with the player for a period of 5 years for 6 million pounds.
On June 25, 2015, Leicester City purchased the rights to a football player from Stoke City for 4.2 million euros. The contract is signed for 3 years. On January 13, 2016, Hoot scored his first (and subsequently victorious) goal for Leicester City, successfully playing with his head after a corner kick. This happened in the Premier League match, where the “foxes” played against the Tottenham Hotspur . February 6, 2016, Robert scored a double in a match against Manchester City . The first goal was scored in the 3 minute match after the transfer of Marez , and the second goal scored with his head from the corner. The match ended with the score 3: 1 in favor of Leicester.
Team Career
The first major tournament at the national team level for Houth was the 2003 World Youth Championship . He made his debut for the first national team on the day of his twentieth birthday, coming on as a substitute in the 86th minute instead of Andreas Hinkel . This happened in Vienna, when the German team in a friendly match outplayed Austria - 3: 1. At the Confederations' home cup in 2005, Robert, along with Per Mertezaker, made up the main pair of defenders. Hoot scored his first goal for the national team in this tournament, on June 29, 2005, in a match for third place, which was won by the Mexican national team with a score of 3: 4 in extra time. Hoot scored his second goal for Germany in a nightmare for the Germans, when they lost shortly before the upcoming home world championship , March 1, 2006, in Italy, the Italians - 1: 4.
