Jennifer McKann ( born Jennifer McCann , born March 1, 1960 in Tweenbrook, , Belfast ) is a Northern Irish politician, a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly from West Belfast, and the Sinn Fein party since 2007.

Biography
Born in Belfast, in the Twinbrook area. She was friends with Bobby Sands and Bernadette Sands-Mackavitt since childhood. She joined the republican movement even at school age, first becoming a member of the Council of Irish Women , and at the age of 17, joining the ranks of the Irish Republican Army (“temporary” wing). At the age of 20, Jennifer was arrested for attempted murder of an Royal Ulster police officer and sentenced to 20 years in prison. After serving 10 years, she was released, becoming a member of the Sinn Fein party department for women and prisoners. She has authored a number of projects, including the Sally Gardens County Central Committee, the Safe Neighborhood Project, the Colin County Festival, and the Falls County Drug Board. Married to a former IRA rebel and prisoner Rab Kerr, there are three children.
