Chan Wang Khe

In 1941-1944 he studied at the medical faculty of the University of Hanoi . Since 1952 he lived in France. In 1952-1958 he studied at the Institute of Musicology at the Sorbonne , and here he defended his dissertation. At the same time he studied at the Paris Institute for Political Studies. Since 1959, he lectured on music from Asian countries at the Center for the Study of Oriental Music at the Sorbonne; since 1965 - director of the center. He worked at the National Center for Scientific Research; since 1972 - its head. In 1960 he became a member of the UNESCO International Music Council, and after a while - vice-president of the Scientific Council at the Institute for Comparative Musicology and Documentation in Berlin . Since 1968 he has been teaching music ethnology at the Sorbonne. One of the major music researchers in the Far East and Southeast Asia. Published a number of works on the history and theory of music of the East; author of articles for the French musical encyclopedia about Vietnamese musical instruments. He performed with the performance of national musical instruments , , danchan ^[1] .
