Baron Raxall

Baron Raxall of St. George's Klyst in County Devonshire is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system . It was created on January 11, 1928 for the conservative politician George Abraham Gibbs (1873-1931). He sat in the House of Commons of Great Britain from West Bristol (1906-1928), served as treasurer of the court (1921-1924, 1924-1928).

As of 2010, the title holder was his second son, Eustace Hubert Bably Gibbs, 3rd Baron Raxall (born 1929), who succeeded his older brother in 2001 . The current Lord Raxall is a retired diplomat .

Barons Raxall are related to Barons Alden and Barons Hansdon of Hansdon. The first baron’s grandfather, William Gibbs (1790–1875), was the younger brother of George Henry Gibbs (1785–1842), the father of Henry Hux Gibbs, 1st Baron Aldenham (1819–1907), whose fourth son was Herbert Gibbs, 1st Baron Hansdon of Hansdon (1854-1935).
