Elena Alipina ( Greek Ἑλένη ; X century) - wife of the Byzantine emperor Constantine VIII , mother of empresses Zoe and Theodora .

Biography
Information about Elena’s life is extremely scarce [1] . About her is known from a brief report in the "Chronography" Psell and from repeating him Skilice and Zonar .
Psell reports that even in his youth, Constantine VIII married Helen [2] . She came from a noble Byzantine family, her father Alipius was the first minister under Emperor Basil II [3] . Psell writes that she was “a wife, a beautiful face and a good soul ” [2] .
Elena gave birth to Konstantin three daughters:
- Evdokia
- Zoya (c. 978 - June 1050),
- Theodore (984 - August 31, 1056).
