History
The status and boundaries of the city district are established by the Law of the Stavropol Territory of October 4, 2004 No. 88-KZ “On the Allocation of Municipal Formations of the Stavropol Territory to the Status of an Urban, Rural Settlement, Urban District, Municipal District” [3] .
Symbols
The official symbols of the urban district of the resort city of Zheleznovodsk as a municipality are the emblem [4] , the flag and the anthem [5] .
Coat of arms
The current coat of arms of the city district was approved by the decision of the Council of the City of Zheleznovodsk dated May 24, 2002 No. 217 [4] .
The description of the emblem reads: “ The coat of arms of the city of Zheleznovodsk is a heraldic shield , divided vertically and horizontally into four equal parts. In the right upper part (hereinafter orographically face from the viewer) is placed the emblem of the Caucasian Mineral Waters . To the left of the coat of arms of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, on a golden background, is depicted an Iron Green mountain and above it a white four-pointed star. On the right, on the bottom of a gold background, there is a bowl with beating up streams of mineral water . The emblem of medicine (a snake with a cup ) of golden color is placed on the azure background in the left lower part ” [4] .
The author of the coat of arms is the designer Alexander Ivanovich Pluzhnikov (Zheleznovodsk) [6] [7] .
Anthem
The hymn of the urban district was established by the decision of the Duma of the resort town of Zheleznovodsk on November 29, 2010 No. 780. The words of the hymn were written by Viktor Sidorenko, music by Nikolay Popov [5] .
