Biography
Yuri Kiselev was born on February 1 (14), 1914 in Semenov (now in the Nizhny Novgorod Region , Russia [1] [2] ) (according to other sources - in Moscow [3] ).
In 1931 - 1935 he studied at the School at the Chamber Theater in Moscow , a student of A. Ya. Tairov . Participated in the first production of " Optimistic Tragedy " Sun. V. Vishnevsky . After graduation with a group of graduates of the Tairov studio, he created a youth theater. Subsequently, he was an actor of the Moscow Student Theater (1935-1936), Voroshilovgrad ( 1936 - 1937 ) and Gorkovsky ( 1937 - 1938 ) theaters of a young audience.
In 1938 he headed the Kalininsky Theater for Young Spectators , teaching at the local theater school. In 1941-1943 he worked at the Kirov Drama Theater [4] . During the war he participated in front-line theaters.
In 1943 he was sent to Saratov , where he became the main director of the Saratov Youth Theater .
He taught at the studio at the Saratov Youth Theater and at the Saratov Theater School named after I. A. Slonov (now the Theater Institute of the Sobinov Saratov State Conservatory ). Among his students are actors: Z. G. Spirin , V. A. Ermakova , S. V. Lavrentiev , Yu. P. Osherov , V. A. Krasnov , T. N. Dzhuraeva .
He was Deputy Chairman of the Board of the All-Russian Theater Society , Deputy Chairman of the Soviet Center ASSITEZH (International Association of Theaters for Children and Youth).
He died on December 19, 1996 (according to other sources - December 18 [5] ) in Saratov (according to other sources - in Moscow [6] ). He was buried at the Old Believers' ( Kulugursky ) cemetery of Saratov.

- In December 1997, part of Pervomaiskaya Saratov Street was named after Yu.P. Kiselyov. Now the section of the street from Gorky Street to Rakhov Street is called Kiseleva Street .
