Biography

Parents in the early 1930s came to Tavria to develop virgin lands. Father died in 1943 near Stalingrad . The years of World War II with his mother and brother were evacuated in Aktyubinsk . After returning, having graduated from school in 1956, he entered the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute . He began his career as a roll maker in the sheet rolling workshop of the Zaporizhstal plant. After moving to Vladikavkaz , he was professionally engaged in mountaineering, participated in ascents to Kazbek, Ai-Petri , and Alibek. The first television documentary film “Christ Bearers” was shot in 1962 at the North Ossetian television studio .

In 1964 he entered the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University , television department. He combined his studies with work in the information editorial office and in other editions of the Central Television as an author-operator. From 1965 to 1969 participated in the movement of student construction teams, after which a full-length documentary “We have in the Backpacks of the City” was shot. The geography of the film is huge: Kazakhstan , the Far East , the construction of the Abakan-Tayshet road, the Baikal-Amur Railway . In the early 1970s. worked on Kazakh television. With the documentary television film “Who will keep the gardens”, shot in 1972 at the Kazakhtelefilm studio, he received the title of laureate at the All-Union Festival of Television Films .

According to N.V. Gogol, he created his first television play "Theatrical Journey" in the literary and dramatic editorial office of Central Television . In the period from 1976-1977. made three full-length documentaries in the framework of the television project "Our Biography" [2] on Central Television . In 1979, the first editorial show with elements of the rock opera “Prometheus’s Heirs”, created together with Alexander Gradsky, was shot at the Main Edition of popular science and educational programs of the Central Television . 1986-1988 - the release of the satirical program "And in earnest and seriously", the program " Man and the Law ." 1988-1994 - The release of the PROK: Business and Politics program cycle at the Central Trade Center. He was awarded the medal "Defender of Free Russia" for information coverage of the events of 1991 , 1993 .

In the period 1999-2002. Together with Arkady Weiner and Natalya Daryalova , as the Chief Editor and Deputy General Director, he created one of the first private television channels, the moral and legal television channel “ Daryal-TV ”. After 2002, he returned to documentary films, where he continues to work as a screenwriter and director.

In 2007 , he received the first prize for the screenwriting film project “Russian Masters” at the All-Russian film script competition “Russia. Large and multinational ” [3] .

In 2008 , the Griffin [4] publishing house published an autobiography book, Television. Offscreen Clamshells. ”
