The massacre at the Tadmore military prison , an event widely known in Syria [1] , occurred on June 27, 1980. On this day, fighters from the Syrian pro-government militia Sarayya ad-Difa , controlled by Rifat al-Assad , killed, according to various estimates, from 500 to 1200 prisoners. The massacre occurred in response to the day before this assassination attempt on Syrian President Hafez al-Assad by Ikhvans [2] . According to some reports, after stripping it took 2 weeks to get rid of corpses and blood [3] . These events became public only when several Syrian agents were sent to Jordan to send the assassination of former Prime Minister Mudar Badran , after which they told everything [4] .
