Physical - geographical position

Located about 77 km from the city of Kaluga on the banks of the Lubyanka River, a tributary of the Shani . The district center Isnoski ~ 22 km. Located between the village of Gusevo and the village of Shansky plant . In geomorphological terms is located on the Smolensk-Moscow Upland . There are two rural cemeteries on the territory of Gireyevo, behind the village, on the road towards the town of Medyn there is a permanent concrete bridge over the Shan River.

Etymology

There are several versions regarding the origin of the settlement:

  • The name of the village is given in honor of the dynasty of Geraev (Girey) , the Khans who ruled the Crimean state from the beginning of the 15th century until its accession to the Russian Empire in 1783 .
  • The locality is named after (the name of) the names of the inhabitants who once inhabited it, probably: Girey, Girey, Gerai ...
  • In the 17th century, the boyar Fyodor Zhdanovich Kireev [3] lived in Medyn district.
  • On the map of Kaluga governorship is referred to as Guryevo [4]

History

XVII century

Gireyevo - the village of Gireyevsky volost of Mozhaisk district. The locality also belonged to the Mozhaisk tithing of the Moscow Diocese [5] [6] and the ancient Mozhaysk camp Bragin Holm [5] .

1609: Gireevsky volost was empty during the ruin of Lithuania ( Time of Troubles ) [7] [8] .

1653: In the Mozhaisk scribal books, it was written that at the village of Gireyev on the Eastern Lyubenka River ( Lubyanka ), on the place where the Church of the Holy Martyr George, in the chapel of St. Nicholas , was, there was a land from which the poor and church rituals ate [6] . Under this land there were seven yards, tithing of abandoned arable land, nine acres of arable land overgrown with forest, 15 hay bales. Earth in desolation, no one owns it. When surveying the land, a place was used where the mouth of the stream flowing into Lyubenka was located near the churchyard . The roads to the Yurov wasteland and to the village of Ontupov are mentioned . Mezheval church land peasant village Prokshina Ekimka Lyabin [9] . 1676-1682 Palace Kuzov and Girev volosts of Mlzhaysky district are mentioned in the clerical books of Ignatius Pigin [11]

1683: The mentioned St. George's Church Land is listed among the peasants of the palace village of Gireyevo [6] . In the same year, the headman of the village of Gireyev, Ganka Yakovlev, and his comrades turned to the patriarch Joachim [12] about building the church of the martyr George in the same place. The Patriarch gave his blessing issued a decree on the construction of the church with the note of the treasurer Paisy Siysky [13] . According to Antipka Ustinova’s fairy tale of the church clerk of the village of Gireyevo, the parish of the church will include 28 peasant yards, yards of church servants; tribute to the church laid in 24 Altyn and two money , check - one hryvnia .

1685: On June 6, by the decree of the Patriarch Joachim, the St. George Church of the village of Gireevo was consecrated. A tribute was imposed: c of the courtyard - 4 money , c yards of the clerk and presbyter - 1 money; from the courtyards of the landowner , the elders of the village of Nikulino , 66 middle peasant households and church lands - tithing and 15 hay bales from the mowings . Under the patriarchal decree, the tribute was imposed from 1686 and amounted to 1 ruble, 16 altyn and 2 money [6] .

XVIII century

1710-1715 The village of Gireyevo is the center of the palace of Gireyevsky volost of the Mozhaisk district with the church. Under her priest Ustin Prokofiev and deacon Dmitri Alexandrov [6] .

1724: On the neighborhood map of Mozhaysk, Deliza Gireyevo is plotted as a village on the (East) River Lubyanka [14] .

1739: Tula industrialists, Mosolov brothers, launched the Nizhnyansky Molotovoy (metallurgical) plant in Gireyevo [15] .

1755: The Nizhishansky plant becomes the property of Count Alexander Ivanovich Shuvalov [16] .

1762: June 9, by the highest decree of Emperor Peter III , Field Marshal A.I. Shuvalov and his wife were granted the eternal and hereditary possession of 2,000 souls of peasants in the palace volosts of his choice. On June 20, Gireyevskaya and Kuzovskaya volosts of Mozhaisk district were approved by Count Shuvalov [6] . The following year, Empress Catherine II confirmed the actions of the decree of her late husband [17] .

1776: Mosolovy breeders base on the Shan River, near the village of Gireyevo, a linen-sailing factory in 16 camps [18] .

1782-1784: AI widow owns Gireyev Shuvalov , Ekaterina Ivanovna Shuvalov. Gireyevo and its environs become part of Medynskiy Uyezd [19] .

1822-1824 : Peasants Gireyev revolt against the manager of the estate of the late landowner Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Golovkina , daughter of Alexander Ivanovich Shuvalov . The cause of the rebellion was the ruin of the peasants. Unrest was suppressed with the help of the military [20]

1836: Gireyevo - owner of the village of Gireyevsky parish, 2nd camp, Medynsky district, Kaluga province.

1849: The village church is being rebuilt, with the direct participation of Count Andrei Petrovich Shuvalov [21] .

1860: Count Andrei Petrovich Shuvalov owns the village of Gireyevo with villages [22] .

1864: A ferry is located on the Shan River near the village of Gireyevo [18] .

1871: On the map of Strelbitsky, Gireyevo is marked as a village [23] .

1890: From the calendar address of the Kaluga province in 1890, you can learn that Alexander Solovyov was the headman of the Gireyevsky volost [24] . The nobleman Vasily Lvovich Yannikov, the head of the 4th district, lived in Gireyev.

XX century
