Lourdes Flores ( Spanish Lourdes Flores ), or Lourdes Selmira Rosario Flores Nano ( Spanish Lourdes Celmira Rosario Flores Nano ; born October 7, 1959, Lima , Peru ) - Peruvian lawyer and politician, the first head of the People’s Christian Party of Peru in 2003 - 2011 years; Peru’s presidential candidate for the party in the 2001 and 2006 elections. In both cases, took third place.

Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Peru in 1990 - 1992. Member of the Constitutional Democratic Congress of the Republic of Peru in 1992 - 1995 [1] . Member of the Congress of the Republic of Peru in 1995 - 2000.
Member of the council of the municipality of Lima in 1987 - 1990. Candidate for Mayor of Lima from the Christian People's Party in the 2010 municipal elections. She took second place, losing to [2] .
Rector of the University of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Lima in 2006 - 2009 [3] . In November 2011, she resigned from the post of head of the Christian People’s Party and expressed a desire for some time to withdraw from political activity. Nevertheless, in 2013 she became one of the initiators of the referendum on the early dismissal of the mayor and all members of the council of the municipality of Lima.
In December 2015, she announced her candidacy for the post of vice president of the Republic of Peru from the People’s Alliance coalition in the 2016 presidential election [4] . She also said that she did not rule out the possibility of running for president in the elections in 2021 [5] [6] .
Biography
Lourdes Flores Nano was born on October 7, 1959 in Lima, in the region of Jesus Maria. Father, Cesar Flores Cosio (1928 - 2012) is an agronomist originally from Mokegua. Mother, Ada Nano-Sulinyak (1936 - 1999) - a housewife originally from Huanuco. Lourdes was the only child in this family.
She received primary and secondary education at the Queen of Angels College. In 1977 she entered the Pontifical Catholic University in Peru, where she studied law. During her studies at the university, she took part in student political disputes, choosing social Christianity. She was in an ideological confrontation between students, supporters of communism and anarchism. Lourdes was the head of the group, a member of the student regiment of the faculty of law and a student representative at the university assembly.
She completed her studies in 1983. In May of that year, she received a doctorate in law from the Complutense University in Madrid. Opened a law office in Lima. At the age of eighteen she became a member of the Christian People's Party. Her commitment to the ideals of social Christianity and her active work in this field led to her being elected Secretary General in 1993, and in 2003 the head of the Christian People’s Party.
