History
For the first time, the complex was shown to the general public at the beginning of October 2015 at the exhibition “Innovation Day of the Southern Military District”. In the same month, specialists of the Western Military District began to develop training tasks on the use of the complex [2] .
By 2016, specialists from the Penza-based Radiozavod JSC (part of the Roselectronika holding) together with the Special Technological Center developed a new mobile ground-based remote control center (MNPDU) with Orlan-10 drones, which is capable of supporting control for 24 hours up to three UAVs at a distance of up to 100 km. At the same time, the MNPDU, in addition to the main functions, is capable of simultaneously receiving photo-video information from three aircraft, identifying targets, observing wind speed and force, ambient temperature and automatically transmitting the data to the MP32M1 command post vehicle ( command point of the complex control of rocket artillery) for the calculation and adjustment of fire [3] .
Purpose
The expansion of the purpose of the complex is due to removable payloads.
- Suppression of mobile communications.
- Simulation of the operation of a cellular base station in the ranges of GSM 900 and GSM 1800 and sending false signals (messages).
- Conducting intelligence by determining the emission points of devices in GSM networks.
- Detection of subscriber points (mobile phones, tablets and other communication systems).
- Drawing the location of subscriber points on a digital map.
- Transfer of data on the location of subscriber points to artillery calculations for delivering a fire strike.
- Aerial monitoring of the situation on the battlefield and troop movement [1] .
- Assessment of the condition of army and navy objects [1] .
- The study of the terrain [1] .
The complex "Leer-3" is able to solve tasks in a given area within 10 hours when working with one UAV and has high conflict stability in the conditions of active operation of fundsRep enemy.
Composition
- Battle crew - five people.
- UAV control machine with automated workstations of operators and antenna-feeder command-telemetric radio communication system based on the KamAZ-5350 chassis .
- One or two UAVs of the Orlan-10 type.
- Inclined launcher (catapult) to launch the UAV.
- Replaceable payloads.
Operators
- Russia : as of March 2016, some are located in units of the Western and Central Military Districts [2] [4] .
Combat use
- Syrian Civil War
Since 2016, information has been received on the use of the complex in the Syrian conflict [5] [6] .
- Armed conflict in eastern Ukraine
On July 28, 2018, an OSCE special monitoring mission using mini UAVs found the RB-341B along with other electronic warfare systems near the village of Chernukhino (southwest of Lugansk in an area not controlled by the Ukrainian government). On August 2 they were no longer there [7] .
