Baron Richie Dundee

Charles Thomson Ritchie, 1st Baron Ritchie Dundee

Baron Ritchie of Dundee from Welders to Chalfont-St. Giles in Buckinghamshire - ancestral title in the United Kingdom Peer system . It was created on December 22, 1905 for the conservative politician Charles Thomas Ritchie (1838-1906). He represented the Tower Hamlets (1874–1885), Tower Hamlets St. George (1885–1892) and Croydon (1895–1905) in the House of Commons of Great Britain, and also served as parliamentary secretary of the Admiralty (1885–1886), president of the Local Council self-government (1886-1892), chairman of the Council on Trade (1895-1900), British Secretary of the Interior (19000-1902) and Chancellor of the Exchequer (1902-1903).

His successor was his second son, Charles Ritchie, Baron Ritchie of Dundee (1866-1948). He was chairman of the administration of the Port of London (1925-1941). His son, John Kenneth Ritchie, 3rd Baron Ritchie Dundee (1902-1975), served as chairman of the London Stock Exchange (1959-1965) and became a member of the Privy Council of Great Britain in 1965 . After his death, the title was inherited by his younger brother, Colin Neville Auer Richie, 4th Baron Ritchie Dundee (1908-1978), who was succeeded in turn by his younger brother, Harold Malcolm Ritchie, 5th Baron Ritchie Dundee (1919-2008) . As of 2010, the bearer of the title was the only son of the latter, Charles Rupert Rendall Richie, 6th Baron Ritchie Dundee (born 1958 ), who succeeded his father in 2008 .

Another prominent member of the Ritchie family was Sir James Thomson Ritchie, 1st Baronet (1835–1912), Lord Mayor of London (1903–1904). He was the older brother of the first Baron Ritchie of Dundee.

  • 1978-2008: Harold Malcolm Ritchie, 5th Baron Ritchie Dundee (August 29, 1919 - January 11, 2008), younger brother of the previous [5]
  • 2008 - present: Charles Rupert Randall Ritchie, 6th Baron Ritchie Dundee (born March 15, 1958), the only son of the previous [6]
    • Heir to the title: Hon. Sebastian Randall Richie (born July 31, 2004), the only son of the previous [7] .
