George Edward Cockane (1825–1911), father of 1st Baron Cullen Ashbourne
Baron Cullen Ashbourne of Rohampton in Surrey is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system. It was created on April 21, 1920 for Sir Bryan Cochain (1864-1932), chairman of the Bank of England (1918-1920). As of 2010, the title holder was his youngest son, 3rd Baron Cullen Ashbourne (born 1916 ), who became the successor to his older brother in 2000 .
The first baron, Cullen Ashbourne, was the son of George Edward Cokein (1825–1911), the herald master and editor of the first edition of The Complete Peerage , the son of William Adams (d. 1851) and the Honorable Mary Anne Cockane (1781–1873), the daughter of the Honorable William Cokein ( 1756-1809) and granddaughters of Charles Cokein, 5th Viscount Cullen (1710-1802).
