Title
For the first time, the name of the Cholbanya River appeared in 1929 on the map of the geographer K. A. Salishchev , who then worked as a surveyor.
- Evenki Chelbanya - “having birch”, “birch”, where “chalban” - “birch”, “-ya” - a suffix similar to the suffix “-lkan”, “-lken”, which means possession of something [1] . Perhaps birch trees grew in the river valley, but already in the 1980s. they were not [2] .
- Even Chulban, Chulbag - "green" ("green"), "blue", "blue" ("blue", "blue", "blue"). Perhaps in the river valley there were a lot of greenery and other features [2] .
History
In the early 1930s, the river valley was explored by the search detachment of E.K. Kalashnikov from the geological party of K. Ya. Springis and recognized it as unpromising. The search party called the river Cholboga.
The settlement of geologists of Chelbanya was founded in the late 1930s. Near the village was the main base of the Chelbanya reindeer farm [3] , which was organized in 1938 on the basis of the Talaya state farm and partially the Bohapcha state farm [4] [5] .
In 1938, the river valley was examined by a detailed exploration geological party by A. I. Zyryanov. In the lower part of the river, called by the geologists of this party Chalboga, gold was discovered. In this regard, in July 1940, the Chelbanya mine was founded and started to work in this place.
On January 1, 1949, in the Berlag administration in the Western Mining Administration (ZGPU), a camp department was established at the Chelbanya mine [6] . This department in his book repeatedly recalls Vadim Tumanov, who was sitting and working there [7] , subsequently a well-known gold miner.
