Biography

In 1955 he graduated from the Latvian Conservatory ; Professor Adolf Skulte (composition). In 1955–1968, he worked as a sound engineer for Latvian television and radio. In 1968–1984 - Chairman of the Board of the Union of Composers of Latvia. Since 1965 he taught at the secondary special music school (Riga), and since 1973 - at the Latvian Conservatory, where in 1985 he became an associate professor. Among the students: Aivar Kalejs and others. He wrote music for the movie.
