Biography
Bervuts was born in Antwerp and from childhood dreamed of becoming an actor. He studied in the studio of Hermann Tyrlik, which he graduated in 1980. In the eighties, for some time he worked actively at Het Theater van de Derde Wereld in Europa, which was then headed by Tone Brulin.
In 1988, he starred in the lead role in George Sluizer's Disappearing , which received positive reviews from critics and a number of awards [1] .
In the 1990s - 2000s - a permanent actor in the films of Jos Stelling ("The Flying Dutchman ", " No trains, no planes ", " Gas Station ", " Waiting Room ", " Dushka ").
In 2013, he starred in one of the notable roles in Alex Van Warmerdam ’s film “ Borgman ” (“Troublemaker”), who participated in the main competition program of the Cannes Film Festival 2013 , and was nominated by the Netherlands for the Oscar for best film in foreign language [2] .
Bervets was also an avid participant in the popular music program Het Swingpaleis.
In February-March 2012, he played in the musical “ Producers ”. Also worked on the radio station Antwerpen FM.
Personal Life
Since 2001, Bervuts has been married to actress Tignes Lorains, who is 22 years younger than him. [3]
