The presidential election in Georgia was held on January 4, 2004 after Eduard Shevardnadze resigned as a result of the Rose Revolution on November 23, 2003, and Nino Burjanadze became acting president. The victory was won by the leader of the Rose Revolution Mikheil Saakashvili.
