Svyatoshinsky ponds are located on the Nyvka River, on a site that flows through the Svyatoshinsky district. Only eight ponds (significant in area). All, except pond No. 14, are located north of Victory Avenue on the territory of Belichansky Forest , which is part of the Svyatoshinsky Forestry Park. Pond No. 14 is located south of Victory Avenue. Pond No. 15 (the so-called Svyatoshinsky Lake ) is adjacent to a residential development ( Belichi ), the rest are located in the depths of the forest. Pond No. 15 is the group’s largest body of water.
The banks are gentle. Pond No. 14 has very swampy southern shores, and other wetlands also have swampy areas. One of the ponds in the far west is divided into many segments.
In the summer, ponds are a resting place for citizens, used for fishing, recreation and swimming. In cold winters, the ponds freeze completely.
There is a fish farm.
As a result of land reclamation in the 2000s, two ponds were drained and the ecosystem of the district was disturbed.
Nature
Offshore in water and on land there is moisture-loving vegetation. The aquatic vegetation of pond No. 14 is represented by 12 species, and No. 15 by 11 species. The dominant association of water body plants is the reedovo - reed one . On the banks are willows and mixed (hereinafter coniferous) forests.
Waterfowl are found here. They are a nesting and wintering place for birds. There are 33 species of birds (wetland habitat), of which two are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine ( black kite and white-tailed eagle ). It is a nesting place for 4 species. In 2008, as a result of research by the route method (data collection by walking tours), 12 species of waterfowl and near-water birds (including migratory ones) were recorded here, in 2009 - 16 species [1] .
The habitats of species are strongly influenced by anthropogenic factors.
