“ Stozhary ” is an international acting film festival that was held [1] in Kiev , Ukraine . The name of the festival comes from the ancient Slavic name “ pleiades ”.
The film festival "Stozhary" has existed since 1995 . In total, 5 festivals have been held during its existence: in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003 and 2005. Guests and participants of the Stozhary festival are filmmakers from Austria , Belarus , Germany , Georgia , Italy , Kazakhstan , Latvia , Moldova , Poland , Russia , Serbia , the USA , Estonia and so on.
Festival History
Stozhary '95
1st Kiev Open Festival of film actors Stozhary (August 22-28, 1995).
The competition was attended by 22 Ukrainian films shot from 1991 to 1995. The festival program was full of many meetings with spectators, press conferences, round tables and creative evenings - professional acting clubs. The festival was covered by leading Ukrainian media, and by individual Russian TV companies.
During the festival and with its support, a series of programs by Leonid Filatov “About those whom we remember ...” about prominent figures of Ukrainian cinema Ivan Mikolaichuk , Leonid Bykov , Nikolai Grinko was shot . Creative meetings and premieres took place in Kiev , Slavutich , Dnepropetrovsk .

3rd International Kiev festival of film actors Stozhary (October 12-20, 1999) [2] .

The 4th International Festival of Cinema Actors Stozhary (August 22-28, 2003) was held under the motto "The Secret of Male and Female". For the first time, the format of the festival included philosophical discussions and round tables, the main themes of which are female and male in cinema. The author and presenter of the round tables is Nazip Khamitov (doctor of sciences, professor, writer, screenwriter, psychoanalyst). Topics of the round tables: “Eros and thanatos in cinema”, “Evolution of male and female”, “Masculinization of women and feminization of men”, “Metamorphoses of love in cinema at the turn of the millennium: passion, friendship, co-creation”.

Stozhary 2005
The 5th International Festival of Cinema Actors Stozhary (October 25-30, 2005) was held under the motto "The Secret of Open Consciousness." Звёзды завтрашнего дня: «Звёзды завтрашнего дня» является панорамой работ юных исполнителей до 16 лет во взрослом кино.
