Baron Palmer

Baron Palmer of Reading in Berkshire is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system . It was created June 24, 1933 for the British entrepreneur and patron of music, Sir Ernest Palmer, 1st Baronet (1858-1948). On January 26, 1916, the title of a baronet from Grosvenor Crescent in the city of Westminster ( Baronetry of the United Kingdom ) was already created for him. The Palmer family made their fortune thanks to their own Huntley & Palmers biscuit company in Reading , Berkshire .

As of 2010, the title holder was the great-grandson of the first baron, Adrian Bailey Nottage Palmer, 4th baron Palmer (born 1951), who succeeded his uncle in 1990. He was the eldest son of the venerable Sir Gordon Palmer , Lord Lieutenant Berkshire (1978-1989), the youngest son of the 2nd Baron Palmer. Lord Palmer is one of the ninety elected hereditary peers who remained in the House of Lords following the adoption of the House of Lords Act of 1999 , where he is an independent deputy.

    • Heir to the title: Hon. Hugo Bailey Rohan Palmer (born December 5, 1980), the eldest son of the previous [5] .
