Cadiz (California)

Kadis / k ə ˈ d i z / [1] or Keydis / ˈ k eɪ d ɪ s / [2] is an unincluded territory in southeastern California , USA . It is part of the San Bernardino County . The area is located in the Mojave Desert , south of the Marmara Mountains and northeast of the Sheep Hole Mountains.

Content

History

The settlement was given the name Cadis in 1883 by Lewis Kingman, a local engineer for Atlantic and Pacific Railways. [one]

Transport

Through Cadiz, the BNSF Railway (formerly Santa Fe Railroads ) railway line runs from Los Angeles to Chicago .

The second railway line through the settlement is the branch of the company: The Arizona and California Railways en is the former Santa Fe Railroad branch from Phoenix ( Arizona ) to Blythe ( California ). In September 2013, the company decided to recreate the historic route from Cadiz to the city of Parker (Arizona). The Santa Fe 3751 steam locomotive will be used as a locomotive , and a new station will be built for this. [3]

At a distance of 5 km north of Cadiz is the city of Chambless, through which the legendary Route 66 passes. Chambless and Cadiz are connected by the Cadiz Rd road.

Cadiz has a runway under the name "Cadiz" (CA90, ( GNIS ) ID 239977). It is located at the southwestern border of the settlement and has one lane 1.6 km long. [four]
