All the women were black, and most of the victims had a criminal past, such as drug offenses. According to the police investigation, Holzklo used his position as a police officer, forcing sexual acts.
On December 10, 2015, a white jury found the former policeman guilty of 18 of the 36 episodes of the prosecution. On January 21, Daniel Holzklo was sentenced to 263 years in prison. It should be noted that in the US judicial system, upon conviction, the term of imprisonment can be summed up for each of the episodes of the prosecution.
The Holzklo case received little media attention, unlike other cases of violence against blacks in the United States. On the day the trial began, the courtroom was almost empty [3] .

Early years
Daniel Holzklo was born December 10, 1986 in Enid , Oklahoma , in the family of police officers Eria and Kumiko Holzklau.
In 2005 he graduated from a local school , where he played American football as a linebacker and set a school record. In the wake of the school, he continued to play while studying at the University of Eastern Michigan (English) , where he studied in the field of criminal law. After graduation, there was an unsuccessful attempt to get a draft in the National Football League . Later - a job at the Oklahoma Police Department.

Since the filing of the charges, in August 2014, Holzklo was sent on paid leave. In January 2015, he was dismissed from service. The trial began on November 2, 2015, where 36 prosecution points were considered, the most serious of which are rape. The defendant and his defense insisted on innocence on all counts.
In addition to testimony in court, traces of the victims' DNA on the uniform of a former policeman were used as evidence of guilt.
On December 10, he was convicted on 18 counts. The defense tried to initiate a new trial and filed a corresponding request on January 20, 2016, which was rejected. On January 21, 2016, Daniel Holzklo was sentenced to imprisonment for 263 years.
The defense stated that the verdict would be appealed.
Press Coverage
According to The Atlantic magazine, media coverage was relatively weak for serial sexual assaults. And this despite the efforts of activists of the Black Lives Matter movement on social networks to attract attention to the process.
The Holzklo case was included in the report of a multi-year study by the Associated Press on sexual violence by police officers. Over a six-year period, about 1,000 police officers were fired from work in connection with such offenses.
