Biography

Born on March 8, 1945 in the village of Mikhailovka, Gaysinsky district, Vinnitsa region of the Ukrainian USSR .

In 1970 he graduated from the Faculty of Geology of Ivan Franko Lviv State University with a degree in geological engineer-geochemist.

In 1976, he defended his Ph.D. thesis, topic “Lithology and Mineralogy of the Mesozoic Terrigenous Deposits of the Malo-Botuobinsky Diamondiferous Region (Yakutia)”.

In 1986, he defended his doctoral dissertation, the theme “Ancient weathering crusts and secondary changes of kimberlites in connection with the problem of forecasting, prospecting and development of diamond deposits”.

From 1970 to 1982, he went from a junior researcher to the head of the department of the Diamond Laboratory of the Central Research Institute of Geology and Geology of the USSR Geology (later - the Yakutsk Department of Complex Research).

From 1982 to 2005 - Director of the Yakutsk Research Institute of the Exploration Enterprise TsNGRI AK ALROSA .

From 2005 to 2009, he was a consultant to the ALROSA Training Center.

Since 2005 - Chairman of the West Yakut Scientific Center of the Academy of Sciences of the RS (Ya).

Scientific activity

Works in the field of geological structure, mineralogy, geochemistry, genesis, development of theoretical and practical methods for forecasting and prospecting for deposits of diamonds and other solid minerals.

The author of more than 1000 printed works, including 50 monographs and 3 inventions.

Publications - 212, citation - 2049, Hirsch index - 13 [1] .

Under his leadership, 38 candidates of sciences and 12 doctors of sciences were trained.

Community Activities

Full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences ( RANS ), the International Academy of Informatization (MAI) and the International Academy of Mineral Resources (MAMR).

Chairman of the Yakut regional section of the Interdepartmental Lithological Committee of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Member of the OUS for "Earth Sciences" of the Academy of Sciences of the RS (Y).
