Ivan Aguéli ( French: Ivan Aguéli ) (1869-1917) is a Swedish artist who converted to Islam under the name Abdul-Hadi. He turned to the Sufi tradition of Rene Guenon .

Born in the family of a veterinarian Johan Gabriel Ageli. At birth, received the name of Johann Gustav Ageli. In 1889 he took the name of Ivan Agueli and moved to Paris . Studied with the artist Emil Bernard . He made friends with the Russian anarchist Prince Kropotkin. In 1894 he was arrested for anarchist activities. In 1895 he traveled to Egypt, where he converted to Islam . In 1899 he visited Colombo . In 1902, the first of the Europeans entered the University of Cairo , Al-Azhar and joined the Chazil tradition. In 1911, he founded the secret Sufi society Al-Akbaria in Paris . In 1916 he moved to Spain , where he died in the Hospitality under the wheels of a train.
