Baron Mancroft

Baron Mancroft of Mancroft in Norwich is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system . It was created February 23, 1937 for the conservative politician, Sir Arthur Michael Samuel, 1st Baronet (1872-1942). He sat in the House of Commons from Farnem (1918-1937), served as Secretary for Foreign Trade (1924-1927) and Financial Secretary of the Treasury (1927-1929). In 1932, he was created the title of a baronet from Mancroft in the city of Norwich (County Norfolk ). His son, Stormont Mancroft Samuel Mancourt, 2nd Baron Mancroft (1914-1987), was also a conservative politician. In 1925, he adopted the name Mancroft. Stormont Mancfort held the positions of Lord Waiting (1952-1954) and Deputy Minister of the Interior (1954-1957).

As of 2010, the bearer of the title was the only son of the latter, Benjamin Lloyd Stormont Mancroft, 3rd Baron Mancroft (born 1957 ), who succeeded his father in 1987 . Lord Mancroft is one of the ninety elected hereditary peers who retained their seats in the House of Lords following the adoption of the 1999 Act of the House of Lords, and he occupies the Conservative bench.

    • Heir to the title: Hon. Arthur Louis Stormont Mancroft (born May 3, 1995), the eldest son of the previous [4] .
