Chris Hazeman ( born Chris Haseman ; June 2, 1969 , Brisbane ) is an Australian fighter of mixed style of medium and light heavy weight categories. He played at a professional level in the period 1996-2012, and is best known for participating in tournaments of the Rings fighting organization - in total, he spent 26 fights here, including reaching the Grand Prix finals twice. Participant of the UFC 38 tournament.

Biography
Born June 2, 1969 in Brisbane , Queensland . He practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu , achieved a black belt in this discipline.
Professional career
On a professional level, he made his debut in MMA back in 1996 in Japan at one of the Rings tournaments. Over the next six years, with alternating success, he spent 30 fights, mainly in Japan, Australia and the United States, of which 18 won and 12 lost. Met during this period with many famous fighters, such as Tsuyoshi Kosaka , Matt Hughes , Jeremy Horn , Egidiyus Valavichus . Three times he entered the ring with the Japanese Yasuhito Namekawa and all three times got the better of him. His fight against the legendary Fyodor Emelianenko in February 2002 is most famous. Hazeman fell under a hail of punches and lost by technical knockout in the first round.
In addition, in 2002 he performed at the UFC 38 tournament, where, by unanimous decision, lost to Evan Tanner , the future UFC middleweight champion. He took part in the WFA 3: Level 3 tournament, losing by technical knockout to Mike van Arsdale. A year later, he met with the famous Japanese fighter Akihiro Gono , but also lost, this time by a decision of the majority of the judges. In 2004, after another defeat, he decided to end his professional career.
Despite the decision to end his career, in 2008, Hazeman nevertheless returned to the fight, at the specially organized tournament for him Return of the Hammer in Australia knocked out the Japanese Yuji Hisamatsu. In 2012, he returned one more time, this time the Australian went to Tokyo, where he was defeated by the Russian Gennady Kovalev. He was scheduled to participate in UFC 110 , the first Australian UFC tournament, but his alleged rival Elvis Sinosic suffered a shoulder injury and the fight was canceled. In total, he has 37 professional fights on his track record, of which 20 won and 17 lost [1] [2] .
