Biography

Sazonov was born on April 4, 1947 in Transbaikalia in the family of a military man. Since 1952, the family has repeatedly moved from place to place, first in Transcarpathia, then in Crimea, in Odessa. For three years, Vitaliy studied at the University of Odessa at the Faculty of History and Philosophy, Department of Archeology, but in 1968 he left the university [1] .

Since 1972, the artist has been communicating with Odessa nonconformists [2] . In 1975, in the Estonian city of Tartu, he took part in an exhibition together with local artists [3] . In the same year, the artist moved to Moscow.

From 1976 to 1980, Sazonov took part in many exhibitions of unofficial art, first “apartment” [4] , and later organized by the Moscow City Committee of Graphic Artists , of which he becomes a member (these exhibitions were held in the exhibition halls on 28 Malaya Gruzinskaya St. )

In 1980, a personal exhibition was held by Sazonov at 28 Malaya Gruzinskaya.

In the same year, Sazonov left the Soviet Union [2] , but continued to work as an artist [6] .

Creativity

His paintings are chamber and fit perfectly into the interior, color combinations, the play of lines and shapes are “pleasing” to the eye. His meaningless compositions are multilayered both literally and figuratively. According to the artist himself, he was fascinated by the theories of V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich [7] .

Sazonov is included in the Register of professional artists of the Russian Empire, the USSR, the "Russian abroad", the Russian Federation and the republics of the former Soviet Union (XVIII – XXI centuries) as an "artist of two-dimensional space" [8] .
