The party was created in 2009 by ultra-right neo - Nazi politician Marian Kotleba . The party positions itself as the successor to the Glinka Slovak People’s Party since the First Slovak Republic [1] . The party is actively promoting political campaigns: anti-Gypsy , anti-migrant and anti-Muslim in nature, appealing to the protection of the Slovak national identity and the protection of traditional Christian values [2] .
In the parliamentary elections in Slovakia in 2016, she gained 8.04% and received 14 seats in the National Council of the Slovak Republic .
