Jung Crystal ( cor. 크리스탈 정 , born Jung Soo Jung ; born October 24, 1994 , better known as Crystal ) is a Korean singer and actress. In 2009 she made her debut as a member of the girl group f (x) under the direction of SM Entertainment , is a member of the SM The Ballad project. In addition to activities in the group, she is also engaged in an acting career, known for her roles in the projects The Expendable Kick 3: Revenge of the Short-Legs (2011–2012), Heirs (2013) and Too Beautiful for Me (2014).

Biography
Crystal Su Jong was born on October 24, 1994 in San Francisco , USA , where her family moved in the 1980s. [1] In early 2000, they traveled to South Korea , where Crystal and her older sister Jessica were spotted by SM Entertainment . Crystal starred in Shinhwa's “Wedding March” video, and she, like Jessica, was invited to go to the company for an internship to professionally practice singing and dancing. Parents refused, arguing that Crystal was too young, and Jessica joined the agency. Later, in 2007, she made her debut in Girls' Generation , and the Jung sisters will appear together at many events. In 2002, Crystal began acting in commercials. She first appeared in a Lotte commercial with actress Han Ga Ying. [3] In 2006, her parents allowed her to join the agency, and she auditioned, after which she was sent to dance classes. Krystal had an internship for three years before debuting in f (x) in 2009. After moving to Korea, Crystal studied at Korea Kent Foreign School ; February 7, 2013 she graduated from Hanlim Performing Arts High School . [6] [7] Entered Songyungwan University with a degree in theater. [8]
Career
2009–13: Career
Krystal made her debut as a member of the girl group f (x) in September 2009.
In March 2010, Crystal took part in a series of videos under the “Melody” project, playing a student in love with a music teacher. [9] [10] [11] [12] She released the song "Melody" specifically for this project. [13] Crystal then hosted The M-Wave with MBLAQ Sanghyun. [14] [15] She also participated in the show “Go! Dream Team 2 ”, where it broke the high jump record, which was first set 10 years ago. [16] In July, the girl made her debut in an episodic role in one of the episodes of the drama “More Attractive by Day”. For her appearance, she won the Comedy Newbie nomination at the MBC Entertainment Awards . [17]
In 2011, Crystal released the song “Because of Me” for the drama “Sign”, [18] and also released the duo “Grumbling” with Ituk from Super Junior . [19] In July, she participated in the show "Kiss and Tears" and took first place there. [20] Kim Yong-ah praised her: "Her skills show me enough if someone said Crystal was a skater." [21] In November, Crystal appeared in The Expendable Kick 3. [22] [23]
In 2012, the single “Butterfly” was released, recorded with Jessica for the drama “Beautiful for You”, in which Solly played the main role. [24] In 2013, Kristal played one of the roles in the TV series The Heirs. [25]
2014–2016: SM The Ballad and movie roles
In 2014, Crystal joined the SM The Ballad project, founded by SM Entertainment in 2010. On her second album, Breathe, she sang the Japanese version of the eponymous title single with TVXQ's Chanming . She also performed the duet “When I Was ... When U Were ...” with EXO's Chen. On February 12, they performed together at SM The Ballad Joint Recital . [26] In March, Crystal appeared in 81 episodes of the potato star sitcom. [27] Koh Gyeong-khyo noted her cameo as “a pleasant moment to remember.” [28] In April, the release of the song “Say Yes”, recorded with Jessica and then EXO member Chris for the movie “Make Movement,” took place. [29] In June, the reality show “Jessica and Crystal” was launched, which showed the daily life of Crystal and her sister. [30] [31] Later that year, she won a leading role in the drama My Beloved Girl, along with Raine and Mensu . [32] [33] Specially for the project, Crystal released the song "All Of A Sudden". [34] For her role, the girl won the nomination "Most Popular Actress" in the television category at the Baeksang Arts Awards . [35]
In May 2015, Crystal took part in the 10-minute film “Listen to My Song” in honor of the tenth anniversary of W Korea magazine. In October, she was announced for the lead female role in the upcoming film “Unexpected Love” with EXO's Lay . [36] [37] On November 28, SM Entertainment announced that it had also been selected for the lead female role in the Chinese drama Graduation Season. [38]
2017: Present
On February 15, 2017, the single “I Don't Wanna Love You” was released, recorded with the participation of Zhu Wang Kim from the duo Glen Check. [39] In the same month, Crystal was approved for one of the main roles in the TV series "The Bride of the River God." [40]
Personal life
On April 1, 2016, Crystal became aware of the relationship with EXO member Kai . [41] On May 31, 2017, information about their separation was confirmed. [42]
