Baron Rotherwick

Baron Rotherwick of Tilney in Southampton County is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system . It was created on June 8, 1939 for the British ship tycoon and conservative politician , Sir Herbert Kaiser (1881-1958). He sat in the House of Commons of Great Britain from South Portsmouth (1918-1922, 1923-1939). On January 29, 1924, the title of baronet from Tilney in the county of Southampton was already created for him. Herbert Kaiser was the fifth son of Sir Charles Kaiser, 1st Baronet from Hartmore (1843-1916), and the younger brother of Sir Augustus Kaiser, 1st Baronet from Roffy Park (1876-1943).

As of 2010, the title holder was the grandson of the first baron, Herbert Robin Kaiser, 3rd baron Rotherwick (born 1954), who became the successor to his father in 1996 . Lord Rotherwick is one of the 92 elected hereditary peers who remained in the House of Lords after the 1999 House of Lords Act , where he sits on the Conservative bench. On February 27, 2012, after the death of Sir James Arthur Kaiser, 5th Baronet (1931-2012), Lord Rotherwick also inherited the title of 6th Baronet Kaiser from Hartmore.
