The People's Daily is one of the leading newspapers in the world and the most influential newspaper in China. Over a thousand journalists work in 70 correspondent offices in different countries and regions of the world. The circulation of the newspaper reaches 2 million 800 thousand and annually increases by more than one hundred thousand copies.
On June 15, 1948, the People's Daily newspaper was created as a publication of the bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC of Northern China. Mao Zedong wrote her name in his handwriting. On August 1, 1949 (on the eve of the founding of the People’s Republic of China ), the CPC Central Committee decided to turn it into its official newspaper.
With many years of development, the People’s Daily, together with its dozens of subsidiaries (known not only in the country but also in the world), has become a large organization - the People's Daily holding.
On the Internet, the People's Daily newspaper is available in the languages of the peoples of China and major foreign languages. The site in Russian was officially opened on June 5, 2001. This is one of the leading official Russian-language information portals of the PRC.
The leadership of the country and the Communist Party of China pays great attention and provides great support to the holding of People's Daily.
