Vitaliy Dmitrievich Pokhodenko (b. 1936 ) - Soviet and Ukrainian chemist, academician and vice president of the NAS of Ukraine , foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences , professor, doctor of chemical sciences, honorary director and chief researcher at the Pisarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine .

Biography
Born on January 9, 1936 in Lysychansk (now Lugansk region , Ukraine ). He graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of KSU named after T. G. Shevchenko (1958). After graduating from the graduate school of the Pisarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1962), he first worked at this institute as a junior research fellow (1962-1966), and from 1966 to 1970 he was a senior research fellow. In 1970 - 2008, he was the head of the department of free radicals. 1971-1978 - Deputy Director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry. Pisarzhevsky on scientific work. In 1982-2008, he was the director of this institute and the head of the department of free radicals. Since 2008 - Honorary Director, Chief Researcher at the Pisarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 1988-1998 - academician-secretary of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (chemistry department of the NAS of Ukraine). Since 1998 - Vice President of the NAS of Ukraine.
