History
The United Left was founded on August 2, 2006 as a coalition of the Communist Revival of San Marino (an analogue of the Italian Communist Revival Party , created by those who disagree with the transformation of the former Communist Party of San Marino into the Sanmarino Democratic Progressive Party ), and the Left Party, a 2005 split from the Party Democrats. The brotherly alliance of OL in Italy was Left and Freedom .
In the 2006 elections , she received 5 mandates and 8.7% of the vote, after which she joined the ruling coalition with the Party of Socialists and Democrats and the People's Alliance of Sanmarin Democrats for the Republic. However, internal contradictions led to the collapse of the coalition in 2008. In 2012, the United Left coalition was transformed into a single party, which voted in the 2012 elections with the ideologically close Civico 10 movement as part of the Active Citizens alliance, which received 16% of the vote.
In the 2016 parliamentary elections , the new bloc, in which the United Left plays the leading role, won. This is the Adesso.sm coalition uniting the “Democratic Socialist Left” (United Left + Progressivists and Reformists + San Marino Democratic Laboratory), the Civico 10 Movement and the centrist “Republic of the Future” (Union of Christian Democratic and Liberal Parties).
From April 2017, one of the two captains regents of San Marino was the representative of the party, Vanessa D'Ambrosio , from October 2017 to April 2018, her party member Enrico Carattoni .
On November 10, 2017, the United Left entered the wider Democratic Socialist Left ( Sinistra Socialista Democratica ).
